The biggest problem with our Governor (apart from her endless mashing of the rule-by-decree button) is that her reopening "phases" are not grounded in actual metrics.
Not that any of her exercise of power bothers our comatose State Supreme Court, but that's a story for another day.
The Principate succeeded because it was popular. And it was popular in large measure because it relieved a lot of people from responsibility while leaving their elevated statuses largely intact.
