And for the record, it's the evil, cultic behavior forcing Gonzalez to step down.
I think the merits of the second impeachment are arguable, but it appears that too many have gone round the bend in demanding a no vote and cultic litmus test.
If your loyalty to a political figure/ideology motivates you to threatening behavior, you need to break the hold before you lose your soul.
It's evil, cultic behavior regardless of which side of the spectrum it comes from.
It either ends or more people will get hurt or worse.
At the rate things are going, bet on option number 2, God save us.
I'm not understanding your point. The notion he was threatened (or threatened more than members of Congress routinely are) resides in the imagination of Allahpundit. Mr. Gonzalez is making no such claim. (And when you make yourself a soldier in the opposition party's inane witch hunt, you draw a primary challenger).
ReplyDeleteMoving past the so-called whataboutism, there's nothing wrong with calling corruption and unpatriotic behavior on a member of one's own party. In the US, the top isn't--or shouldn't be--insulated from criticism. There used to be good and honorable Republicans. The party has gone cray-cray. The Dems join the GOP in the bad idea, ill-conceived and blundered in roll out. For the moment, they aren't populated by a significant minority of traitors and sore losers.

Delete"Oh wait you're serious...
Yeah, try that line on people who don't remember the last 4 years - or even the most recent news cycle.
Here's one thing to keep in mind: There are 7 BILLION people on the planet. Let's say just 1% of that number belonged to any random group. Like... Warhammer players (for fun). That would be 70 million people.
ReplyDeleteAt that number, you would be able to find SOMEBODY committing ANY kind of sin you liked to pick. i.e. Let's say murders accounted for one half of one percent in the general population. Well in our hypothetical Warhammer player group, if the rate was consistent, then that means 350,000 Warhammer players were murders.
Further complicating matters is that Humanity's Dunbar number is ~200. Which means it doesn't take a lot (especially with the internet) to overload our ability to "grasp" the true scope of something.
Also I just found out something that is burying the lede here...
That 16th district of Ohio is being removed in 2023 after the census.
