But more seriously, game fandom generates them, and they can often spread to outsiders, and borrow from other pop culture references in the process.

I started reading the memes, then I looked at the lore behind the memes on the wiki fan sites, then I started reading the books, then I downloaded and played the "Combat Cards"--and now I'm currently building a Land Raider Redeemer with my youngest.
