Crime Data for Michiganders.

The wildly-uneven Detroit News has offered some helpful data to track the surge in violent crime in the Great Lakes State, breaking it down by city.

In our city of residence, it jumped by over 8 percent, with homicides and aggravated assaults driving the increase.

Little wonder our nearest firearms store just announced that it is opening on Sundays.

Even less wonder that variations on "defund" have no traction in a city that is 40 percent African-American.

  1. David Marcus made a good point about this in a podcast addressing the 10th anniversary of Occupy Wall street.

“The left doesn’t want to celebrate Occupy Wall Street because that’s the lesson of it right? When you remove every element of order, this is what you get every time and we saw that at CHOP, we’ve seen it in Atlanta, we’ve seen it in D.C., and so they don’t want to talk about it and I can understand why.”

  2. Again, the 'defund-the-police' call is coming from Alinksyite characters financed by the sorosphere. The Minneapolis city council is chock-a-block with people with an affinity for this. Have a gander at their work histories of the members of the Minneapolis City council. About 3/4 of them have no children and no real trade; they've cadged their living over the years from elected office, patronage positions, and staff positions at minor NGOs.

Fairly remote from the world of black wage-earners.

  3. Add the Lions to the crime statistics for attempting to impersonate a professional football team. I think MSU or UofM could probably beat the Lions.

  4. The Lions have fought really hard this year. But (1) years of poor drafts left them talent poor and (2) they will disintegrate if they don't win something soon.

This is a strong contender for an 0-17, sorry to say.

Be reasonably civil. Ire alloyed with reason is fine. But slagging the host gets you the banhammer.
