Never mind. It *was* the transmission that went bad.

So on top the $1160 I spent on the radiator and transmission lines, I am looking at a range of additional $1700 to $3700 to replace the whole damnable thing.

Which I can't afford, unless I switch careers to chemistry teacher.

  2. Rebuilt or a used transmission from the junk yard?

    My 2001 car is at the mechanic (a brother-in-law's shop) right now. It may be the catalytic convertor. He sources used parts all of the time.

    The costs of more pressing family needs are why ALL of my Warhammer / RPG hobbies slowly went on hold beginning 20 years ago to a dead stop 12 years ago.
